IND vs PAK: Wasim Jaffer Feels Pakistan Captain Babar Azam Will Score More Runs Than India Captain Rohit Sharma In Asia Cup 2022

Former India National Cricket Team opening batsman Wasim Jaffer has predicted that the Pakistan National Cricket Team captain Babar Azam will score more runs in the upcoming Asia Cup 2022 than his Indian counterpart Rohit Sharma, who is all set to play his 7th Asia Cup.

The Asia Cup 2022, which is the 15th edition of the tournament, is scheduled to be played from August 27 to September 11. The entire tournament is set to be held in United Arab Emirates (UAE) with the hosts Sri Lanka taking on Afghanistan in the opening clash.

In the second match of the mega event, India National Cricket Team will go head-to-head with arch-rivals Pakistan National Cricket Team at the Dubai International Stadium on Sunday, August 28.

The last time when the Men In Blue and the Men In Green locked horns at the same venue during the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021, the Virat Kohli-led Team India lost the match by 10 wickets. Also, India’s 10-wicket defeat in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 match against Pakistan was the first defeat of Team India against Team Pakistan in a World Cup match.

Rohit will have more impactful runs – Wasim Jaffer

During an interaction with ESPNcricinfo, Indian domestic cricket legend Wasim Jaffer said that Team India captain Rohit will score more impactful runs in the multi-nation tournament, but Team Pakistan captain Babar will overall score more runs than Rohit, who is India’s second-highest run scorer in the Asia Cup history with 883 runs in his bag.

“I think Rohit will have more impactful runs. But I feel Babar will make more runs”, he said.

Also, Jaffer has picked his India playing XI for the blockbuster Asia Cup clash between arch-rivals India and Pakistan.
