Mohammed Shami, an Indian bowler, has defended Arshdeep Singh after the young fast bowler received backlash on social media for dropping a catch against Pakistan in the Asia Cup Super 4s game on Sunday at the Dubai International Stadium.

Asif Ali was given a life when Arshdeep lost the catch in the 18th over of the innings. Pakistan eventually won by five wickets.

Arshdeep Singh, a left-arm pacer for India, received vicious trolling for dropping a catch. Since Asif Ali was the one who hit Bhuvneshwar Kumar in the 19th over and nearly led Pakistan over the finish line, he had dropped the catch of Asif Ali in the 18th over, which proved to be pretty expensive. However, the fans failed to remember that despite having 7 runs to defend, Arshdeep came close to winning the game for the billion spectators.

The 23-year-old pacer has not played much international cricket, and such trolls can hurt a player, so the management would be concerned. It is important to remember that the senior bowlers, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Hardik Pandya, and Yuzvendra Chahal, were all destroyed, each giving up 40+ runs throughout their spell.

Mohammed Shami Shows Support For Arshdeep Singh:

Arshdeep Singh has received support from Indian pacer Mohammad Shami, who has advised him to just concentrate on the forthcoming matches.

On his Instagram Story, Shami wrote: “Don’t worry @_arshdeep.singh_ we are with you. Focus on your upcoming games, don’t look and listen to them.”

India would have won the game if the catch had been made, but Pakistan easily prevailed thanks to Asif’s 16-run performance off 8 balls to send his team home. Arshdeep bowled well in the 20th over despite missing the catch, needing just 7 runs to win off the final six balls.
