Mohammad Hafeez, a former captain of Pakistan, made fun of Ravichandran Ashwin for not being selected for the starting lineup.
In the ongoing Asia Cup 2022, Rohit Sharma and Rahul Dravid have chosen Yuzvendra Chahal and Ravi Bishnoi while the champion spinner is still warming the bench.
Shahid Afridi of Pakistan struck two thunderous sixes in the final over to secure a thrilling victory over India in the 2014 Asia Cup. After winning the toss, Pakistan decided to bat first and held India to a modest total of 245/8. When it came down to it, Pakistan needed 13 runs off the final two overs. Mohammad Hafeez and Shoaib Maqsood then formed a key partnership to bring their team close to victory.
After the last man, Junaid Khan managed a single, Afridi, who was watching from the non-end, strikers were given the strike. The hard-hitter gave Pakistan a historic victory by hitting back-to-back sixes against Ashwin.

Eight years later, Mohammad Hafeez, the former captain of Pakistan, has publicly criticized Ashwin for not having been involved in the current Asia Cup T20 tournament.
The current score between the two teams is a tie (1-1). While India defeated the Rohit Sharma-led squad by five wickets in the group stage encounter, the Men in Green defeated them by the same margin in the Super 4 round.
