These are the likely seven batsmen who might be named in the Indian squad for Asia Cup 2022. The likes of Rohit, Kohli, Rahul and SKY are almost guaranteed selections. All of them are not a part of the Indian squad at the moment but will be back for the tournament.

Ishan Kishan is being seen as India’s third opener for the T20 World Cup and will be given more opportunities. Pant comes in as the wicketkeeper and Dinesh Karthik as the designated finisher. Karthik’s brilliant show in the IPL might just give him the edge to be selected for the Asia Cup and T20 World Cup squads for India.

All Rounders – Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Venkatesh Iyer

Hardik Pandya is back in the Indian white-ball sides after a brilliant IPL season. He has proved his fitness and has showcased brilliant form with bat and ball. He is one of the seam-bowling all-rounders in the side. Ravindra Jadeja who is nursing an injury at the moment will also be fit in time for the Asia Cup followed by the T20 World Cup.

He comes in as the second all-rounder and will replace Axar Patel in the side. If the BCCI needs another seam-bowling all-rounder as Hardik’s backup, Venkatesh Iyer can be the option.

Bowlers – Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Deepak Chahar, Jasprit Bumrah, Yuzvendra Chahal, Ravi Bishnoi

Chahal and Bishnoi can be the spin options alongside Jadeja to form a formidable trio. Among the pacers, there is plenty of experience with Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Deepak Chahar and Jasprit Bumrah. Bumrah and Chahar are rested at the moment and should be back for the Asia Cup.
