Pakistan defeated Afghanistan last night to book their berth in the Asia Cup 2022 finals. However, the celebrations got a bit under-shadowed following a feud between Asif Ali and fast bowler Fareed Ahmad Malik during Pakistan’s chase. The players were seen getting involved in a massive war of wards with Asif Ali charging toward Malik, after which the players and umpires had to intervene.

In the aftermath of the incident, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman, Ramiz Raja opened up on the controversy that erupted at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium. The ex-Pakistan cricketer also said that in the interim, Pakistan cricket would bring forward the matter to the International Cricket Council (ICC) as well.

Raja was quoted as saying in a press conference, in a video uploaded by PCB on its YouTube channel, “I am not sure if the fixture can be changed because it’s a practice match and not a tournament. But we will definitely share our frustration and anguish with the ICC after what happened last night.”
