Former Pakistani cricketers Sikander Bakht and Aaqib Javed argue over Haris Rauf’s performance against India in the Asia Cup 2022 match.

Pakistan lost to India by five wickets in their opening game of the 2022 Asia Cup, and on Friday night they will play Hong Kong in a contest that will essentially determine the tournament’s champion. In opposition against Rohit Sharma’s team, the side was dismissed for 147 and gave up the target with two balls left.

Naseem Shah and Mohammad Rizwan, two Pakistani cricketers, both experienced cramps while bowling, with the former struggling to have a significant influence in the closing overs due to soreness. In a debate on Geo Super, former Pakistani star Sikander Bakht also made the point that pacer Haris Rauf’s inability to hit yorkers and preference for short-pitched deliveries remained a significant issue for the team.

Aaqib Javed, who has been working closely with Haris Rauf at the Pakistan Super League team since 2018, supported the bowler in response to Bakht’s criticism.

“He bowled two bad deliveries. But overall, where there is a lot of grass, the best ball is a good length delivery.

“He did that. But tell me, we saw Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, India… but the cramps that we endured.. three (one) bowlers and our wicketkeepers.. how can you expect them to give their best if they are down with cramps? It’s related to your food and water intake,” Aaqib said during the debate.

Bakht questioned, “Did Haris also have cramps in response to this?” I am talking about Haris,” It is because of how skillfully he bowls yorkers. But when he gets aroused, he bowls balls that are too short. He pays closer attention while you guys speak.”

Haris Rauf’s best ball is a yorker: Aaqib Javed

Aaqib insisted that Pakistan’s over-reliance on the top three batters has come to harm the team and that bowling alone was not the cause of their loss to India.

“Pakistan did not lose on skill; they lost physically.” They suffered from cramping. We have been talking about it for a while: the batting order is reliant on Babar, Rizwan, and Fakhar. If they leave early, the rest of the lineup will be unable to complete the overs,” Aaqib explained.

When confronted with a question on Haris Rauf’s lack of yorkers by the presenter, Aaqib Javed said, “Yorker is his best ball.” However, it is effective when the ball is reverse-swinging. If the ground has grass but little rough, the ball will not reverse. Yorker is challenging.”

Sikandar finally closed the discussion with a witty remark. “Please contact him the next time we face India. He pays attention to you.”

On Friday night, a virtual knockout game between Pakistan and Hong Kong will take place.
