In the Super Four match of the Asia Cup versus Sri Lanka, Rishabh Pant was sent to bat after Hardik Pandya, which caught him off the surprise. Both of the batters were out for 17.

After losing to Pakistan in the first Super Four game, India faced Sri Lanka in the second game on Tuesday (September 6). India began the event as the favourite, owing to its dominance over the island nation. But, in multi-team events, Lanka surprised everyone and handed India another setback.

SL was given a challenging goal of 174 to chase down, and they succeeded in doing so in the last over to advance as the first team to the final. One of the spots in the final has now been allocated by SL. Pakistan will join SL if they triumph today. India will have a chance to play in the championship game for the third time in a row if they lose to Afghanistan.

India was allowed to bat first in the crucial match but quickly lost KL Rahul and Virat Kohli, falling to 13/2. The squad was saved by Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav, who put up 97 runs for the third wicket.

Rishabh Pant was about to pick up his gloves:

After Rohit was dismissed, there was some uncertainty in the dressing room since it appeared like Rishabh Pant had been approved to bat. However, due to a last-minute adjustment, Hardik batted in front of him. In response to Hardik’s promotion, Rishabh Pant was about to take up his gloves, and his reaction is currently trending on social media.

Hardik has had difficulty since the first game against Pakistan when he excelled. Against SL, he only scored 17 and gave up 35 runs in his 4 overs. He failed to get going in the Super Four match against the Men in Green and went for 44 runs in his four overs. Against SL, Rishabh Pant again had trouble, scoring 17 off of 13.
