Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin feels that KL Rahul is providing stability to India in the middle-order in ODIs. Ravichandran Ashwin also added that MS Dhoni nailed that art earlier.

Ravichandran Ashwin’s words arrive after KL Rahul scored a marvellous knock against Pakistan in a recent game of Asia Cup 2023. The right-handed batsman slammed a century to lead India to a mammoth total of 356-2.

Notably, KL Rahul smacked a ton just after his return to the national side. Rahul was injured during IPL 2023 in May 2023. He underwent thigh surgery and did not play for India for a few months. Just after his return to the national team, the wicketkeeper-batsman smacked a century against Pakistan, scoring 108 runs.

KL Rahul Is Giving Us Stability With The Bat In The Middle-Order: Ravichandran Ashwin

While speaking on his YouTube channel, Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin said that KL Rahul is giving stability to Team India with the bat in the middle order.

He also said that it is really difficult to bat in the middle order. According to Ashwin, MS Dhoni nailed that art. However, he also added that he is not comparing Rahul with MS Dhoni.

“KL Rahul is giving us stability with the bat in the middle-order. That’s why batting in the middle-order is really difficult. MS Dhoni nailed that art. However, I am not at all comparing Rahul with MS Dhoni. Plus, he did a different role of batting at number 6/7 compared to Rahul,” the 36-year-old said.

“But I feel he is slowly mastering his role perfectly. He put a partnership with Ishan Kishan initially against Sri Lanka too. When Dunith Wellalage was in a great rhythm, KL Rahul left it alone for two deliveries. That was a very good sign. It showed us that he had a good game plan,” added Ashwin.
