Star India National Cricket Team right-arm pacer Jasprit Bumrah was surprisingly not part of the team’s playing XI in the first T20I of the three-match series against Aaron Finch-led Australia National Cricket Team at the Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium, Mohali, Chandigarh on Tuesday, September 20.
Bumrah made a comeback to the India National Cricket Team squads for the home T20I series against Australia and South Africa as well as the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 after recovering from a back injury.

Rohit Sharma Reveals Why Jasprit Bumrah Isn’t Included In India Playing XI For 1st T20I vs Australia

At the toss, India National Cricket Team skipper Rohit Sharma said that Bumrah has decided to take a break and will most likely return to playing XI for the second and third T20I against the Aaron Finch-led side. He stated:
“Unfortunately there are some injuries in the squad. Bumrah is not playing, he will take a game’s break and probably come back in the second and the third game. We have Axar and Chahal. Pant misses out.
“It is an opportunity to test ourselves. Every game is a big game to learn. We got to learn so much in the last six-eight months on how to win games. This series will be no different for us to express ourselves. Looking at what happened in the Asia Cup, we had a chance to reflect on where we went wrong. This gives us an opportunity to correct ourselves as a group. Nothing changes in terms of our approach.”

Also, Umesh Yadav, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Harshal Patel were the three pacers in India playing XI for the first T20I against Australia.
