India’s skipper Rohit Sharma maintained his exceptional play, particularly in the shortest format, as the Men in Blue defeated Australia 2-1 at home in the three-match series. After dropping the first T20I, the hosts made a strong comeback in the final two matches, chasing down large totals (91 in 8 overs and 187) and winning yet another series.

With one tie, India has had six T20I series victories. 5 of them saw Rohit Sharma take the lead. Rohit also surpassed Virat Kohli as India’s second most successful captain in the shortest forms with the victory in Hyderabad in the third and final game against Australia, scoring his 33rd victory as team leader.
