Virat Kohli’s form was the biggest takeaway for India in the Asia Cup 2022. The right-handed batter found his mojo and notched up his 71st International Century. The batter was on the verge of getting dropped as many experts demanded his axe. The Skipper Rohit Sharma stood behind him in the crisis, and it paid off.

A billion people would have mixed feelings as they couldn’t see team India clinching Asia Cup 2022. The Men in Blue would be dejected not because of a poor Asia Cup 2022, but because there was no fighting spirit. The Men in Blue will need to pull up their socks as T20 World Cup is just steps away.

Former Pakistan Captain Shahid Afridi was having an interaction with Samma TV.  “The way Virat has played, the start that he had to his career, there was struggle initially before he made a name for himself. He is a champion and I believe there comes a stage when you are headed towards retirement. But in that scenario, the aim should be to go out on a high.”

“It shouldn’t reach a stage where you are dropped from the team and instead when you are at your peak. It seldom happens though. Very few players, especially cricketers from Asia Cup make that decision, but I feel when Virat does it, he will do it style and probably in the same manner in which he started his career.” The former all-rounder added.

Virat Kohli The Fighter

The right-handed batter was in serious problem as it looked like he was finding new ways to get out. The batter lacked the fire in his eyes and his off-side weakness was blatantly exposed. It looked like the old King Kohli got disappeared.

Virat was rested for the Caribbean tour and that did wonders as he got a much-needed break and he was rejuvenated. The batter batted with a lot of intent and made a statement that he isn’t finished yet. The batter knows that he still has a lot to contribute to the Indian Cricket Team.
