Former India National Cricket Team opening batsman Wasim Jaffer reacted to the young Australia National Cricket Team all-rounder Cameron Green’s scintillating knock in the 3rd T20I against India with a hilarious meme and opined that the all-rounder will be on the radar of several franchises at the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 auction.
The 23-year-old Australia National Cricket Team fast-bowling all-rounder Cameron Green has been in terrific form with the bat in the ongoing three-match T20I series against India National Cricket Team.
In the absence of veteran opening batsman David Warner, Green was handed the opportunity to open the innings with skipper Aaron Finch in the three-match T20I series against the Men In Blue. The all-rounder grabbed the opportunity with both hands and smashed two sensational half-centuries in the series with amazing strike rates.
In the first T20I match of the series at the Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium, Mohali, Chandigarh on Tuesday, September 20, the young Aussie all-rounder smashed 61 runs off 30 balls, including 8 fours and 4 sixes.
In the second T20I, which was an eight-overs-a-side contest, at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium, Jamtha, Nagpur on Friday, September 23, Cameron Green was able to score only 5 runs off 4 balls.
Cameron Green Will Be In Heavy Demand At The IPL 2023 Auction, Feels Wasim Jaffer
Green provided a sensational start to the Aussies in the 3rd T20I game of the series on Sunday, September 25, at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Uppal, Hyderabad. He scored 52 runs off 21 balls, including 7 four and 3 sixes.
Former India National Cricket Team opening batsman Wasim Jaffer was impressed with Green’s knock and he took to Twitter to state that the all-rounder will land a big IPL deal. He shared a meme that read “Humko Join Karlo” ( Join us) and wrote, “IPL teams to Cameron Green in December #IPLAuction #INDvAUS.”

Notably, Green smashed his half-century off 19 balls in the 3rd T20I and now he holds the record for the fastest half-century against India in the T20I format. Also, he is only third Australian to score a half-century in Men’s T20I in less than 20 deliveries after David Warner and Glenn Maxwell. Surprisingly, Green is not a part of Australia’s ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 squad.
Meanwhile, the IPL 2023 auction is all set to be organised by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in mid-December and the likely date for the auction is December 16, as per reports.
The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 auction is reportedly set to be a mini auction and the purse of the franchises will be INR 95 crore, which is INR 5 crore more than last year. Each franchise will have at least INR 5 crore in its reserves to proceed with the auction, which can be increased by releasing and trading players.
