The Rohit Sharma-led Team India will try to rebound in the following game on Friday after losing the first T20I against Australia in Mohali.

The second round of the three-match series will be played in Nagpur, where the Men in Blue landed on Wednesday. The hosts cannot afford to lose this game if they want to continue the series, thus it will be a game that determines their fate.

At the Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium earlier on Tuesday, Australia defeated India by four wickets in the first Twenty20 International, taking a 1-0 series lead.

India scored 208/6 in 20 overs because of the stunning fifty-plus scores of Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul, as well as a standout cameo from Suryakumar Yadav. Hardik (71 not out off 30), KL Rahul (55 off 35), and Suryakumar made a terrific showing of intent despite India losing the wickets of Rohit and Kohli within the first six overs (46 off 25).

Nathan Ellis, a medium pacer, was Australia’s best bowler with a 3/30.

Australia got off to a fast start as opener Cameron Green played a brilliant knock (61) while chasing a large target. But between the 11th and 15th over, India made a comeback by taking four wickets.

Matthew Wade (45 not out of 21) played an aggressive inning when Australia eventually required 40 runs off the final 18 balls. He continued to bat unabated as Australia crossed the finish line in 19.2 Overs with four wickets still to bat.
