IND vs AUS: "I Wish He Will Recover Soon And Come Back To The Field" - Marcus Stoinis Says Rishabh Pant Is Unfortunate To Miss The Border Gavaskar Trophy

Australia will tour India for four Test matches for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT), starting on February 9 in Nagpur. The Aussies last played Test cricket in India in February 2017 and defeated the hosts by 333 runs in the first Test in Pune, but lost the series 2-1.
The Pat Cummins-led side will be hoping for their first series win in India since 2004. The visitors will have to play well against the spin bowlers, as they play an important role in India, where the pitches are traditionally spin-friendly. India will play the final series to qualify for the 2023 World Test Championship (WTC) final.

He Is Unfortunately Not With The Team – Marcus Stoinis
Australian all-rounder Marcus Stoinis wished Rishabh Pant a speedy recovery and return to the field soon. Stoinis played alongside Pant for Delhi Capitals (DC) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 and 2021 seasons.
“One player definitely missed this season badly and it is Rishabh Pant he is unfortunately not with the team. I wish he will recover soon and come back to the field,” Stoinis told ANI.

Facing India On Their Soil Is A Bit Difficult – Marcus Stoinis
Stoinis stated that Australia will be desperate to win the series in India to avoid a third straight defeat in the BGT series. The right-handed batsman feels that it will be difficult to beat India on their soil as they have quality spinners like Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja.
“This time we don’t want to lose the trophy. The team never wants to lose it but this could be the third time and we don’t want to give up this year. Our squad is too strong and facing India on their soil is a bit difficult as we have to face spin tracks over there.”
“India have some specialist bowlers like R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja those can bowl really well but we are also coming with some specialist spinners so you can expect a good competition this time,” he added.
