Australian Cricket Team is on a roll at the moment after winning back-to-back Test Matches against South Africa. The Aussies now are on the brink of getting qualified for the World Test Championship (WTC 2021-23) final. Mitchell Starc has been ruled out of the 3rd Test Match against South Africa and is doubtful for Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2023.

Cricket Australia (CA) would be worried about finding a like-for-like replacement for Starc is quite tough. This would be the 3rd tour of Mitchell Starc. Along with Starc, there is uncertainty regarding Cameron Green as the flamboyant all-rounder has a finger injury.

Mitchell Starc on India Tour

Mitchell Starc was having an interaction with the media and was asked about the India tour. “Obviously I want to come back as soon as possible with the India tour coming up. Having gone through a lot with all the outside noise and then to deliver in such fashion ( on David Warner).  David Warner & Alex Carey set the game for us. Winning the toss and bowling, it was nice to not to bowl under 38 degrees. We put them under pressure and it was great to set up this win.” said Mitchell Starc.

Exciting Contest on Cards

Australia hasn’t won Test Series in India since 2004 and they would be keen to end the drought of 19 years. All eyes would be on the duo of Smith & Warner as the batters have to play according to their credentials. Australia’s spin department looks a bit fragile as apart from Nathan Lyon, there’s not a dangerous spinner present.

India needs to win the Series by a 3-0 or 3-1 margin to stake a claim in WTC 2021-23 final. Head Coach Rahul Dravid needs to be spot on with selection as there are chances that India may play with 3 spinners given Kuldeep Yadav has a pretty good record against Australia.
