PAK vs AUS: Watch – Azhar Ali Furious After Getting Dismissed By Nathan Lyon In Lahore Test, Courtesy Of Controversial Third Umpire Decision

Pakistan National Cricket Team batter Azhar Ali was furious after he was controversially adjudged out by the third umpire during the third and final match of the three-match Test series against Pat Cummins-led Australia National Cricket Team.

The third and last match of the three-match Test series between Pat Cummins-led Australia and Babar Azam-led Pakistan is being played at the Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore. Notably, the first two games of the series, which were played in Rawalpindi and Karachi ended in a draw.

Meanwhile, on Day 5, Azhar Ali got out on the second ball of the 46th over, which was bowled by veteran off-spinner Nathan Lyon. Lyon bowled a fuller length delivery and the Pakistan batter went for the sweep shot but he failed to make a good connection with the ball and it went straight in the hands of Steve Smith after seemingly going past the inside edge of the bat and hitting the pads.

There was a massive appeal made by the Aussie players for a bat-pad catch but the on-field umpire was not convinced and he gave it a not out, which led to Pat Cummins opting for a review.

On the UltraEdge there was a very little spike when the ball was close to the bat and the same little spike was also present when the ball was away from the bat. However, the third umpire adjusted Ali out. The fans on Twitter felt that the decision was not conclusive and it should have been not out.

Earlier, Australia won the toss and posted 391 runs on the board and in response, Pakistan were able to score only 268 runs after facing a horrible batting collapse. Also, Pat Cummins-led side batted brilliantly well in their second innings and with the help of Usman Khawaja’s sensational century, they scored 227 runs before declaring and giving Pakistan 351 runs to chase on Day 5.
