Big Bash League Live Score; BBL Live Score; Sydney Thunder vs Adelaide Strikers Live Score.

The fifth match of the Big Bash League will see Sydney Thunder lock horns with the Adelaide Strikers at the Sydney Showground Stadium in Sydney, both teams are well-matched and this promises to be an entertaining contest.

Sydney Thunder

Thunder got off to a brilliant start, after a nerve-wracking win in the first game of the competition, they managed to sneak in past with a one-wicket victory in a low-scoring game. Sydney Thunder will be playing at their home ground after two years.

The Sydney Showground Stadium missed hosting a BBL contest in the last two years due to the pandemic. Alex Hales will open the batting and will be the player to watch out for today. The Thunder have a long batting lineup, backed by a decent bowling attack.

On the other hand, the Strikers have opened their account in their first game after thumping three-times champions Sydney Sixers by 51 runs. Rashid Khan and Henry Thornton were brilliant with the ball and Matt Short was the man of the match, he smacked a brilliant 84 which led the team to set up a huge first innings total of 184 on a two-paced surface.

Peter Siddle has led from the front, he didn’t get a wicket in the first game but has been exceptional with the ball. The Strikers look like a very strong unit and the Thunder needs to be at the top of their game to defeat them.

Sydney Thunder vs Adelaide Strikers, 5th Match: Pitch Report

The pitch at the Sydney Showground Stadium has traditionally been a very good batting wicket, but it also provides enough assistance to the fast bowlers upfront and the spinners tend to be effective on this pitch. The ball should also come on nicely to the bat, but the batter needs to get their eye in before going for the big shots.

The team winning the toss will most likely opt to bowl first and chase it down as there is dew expected in today’s encounter. Expect one side of the boundary to be short and one to be long in today’s encounter.
