1,166 Players Register For IPL 2024 Auction - Reports

According to the latest reports in Cricbuzz, a total of 1,166 have registered for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL 2024) Auction. However, a major name of Jofra Archer was missing from the list.

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 player auction will be held on December 19 in Dubai. It will be a mini-auction and for the first time, the event will be held outside India. The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 auction will coincide with the second ODI of India’s tour of South Africa, which is scheduled for December 19 in Gqeberha.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had set November 26 as the deadline for the franchises to announce the list of their retained and released players. The teams announced their lists but the trade window remains open until December 12, a week before the player auction

Each team will have an additional INR 5 crore to spend at the IPL 2024 Auction, which makes the purse of INR 100 crore for all 10 franchises.

Mitchell Starc, Rachin Ravindra Among Big Names Register For IPL 2024 Auction

Among the big names, Mitchell Starc, Rachin Ravindra, Daryl Mitchell, Travis Head, Josh Hazlewood, and Pat Cummins have put their name forward for the auction. The major name missing from the list is of Jofra Archer, who reportedly hasn’t put his name forward due to his injury issues.

A total of 1,166 players have registered for the IPL 2024 Auction out of which 830 are Indians and 336 are overseas. Out of 1,116 players, 212 players are capped, 909 are uncapped and 45 are Associate players.

Although 830 Indian players have registered for the auction, only 18 of those are capped players with only 4 setting up their base price as INR 2 crore.

The capped Indian players are Varun Aaron, KS Bharat, Kedar Jadhav, Siddarth Kaul, Dhawal Kulkarni, Shivam Mavi, Shahbaz Nadeem, Karun Nair, Manish Pandey, Harshal Patel, Chetan Sakariya, Mandeep Singh, Barinder Sran, Shardul Thakur, Jaydev Unadkat, Hanuma Vihari, Sandeep Warrier and Umesh Yadav. Harshal Patel, Kedar Jadhav, Shardul Thakur, and Umesh Yadav are part of the INR 2 crore bracket while the rest of the players have a base price of INR 50 lakh.

Meanwhile, the BCCI has requested franchises to send the list of additional players whom they want to go under the hammer. They have also been told to send the list of players from the auction register whom they want for the IPL 2024 Auction.
