Chris Gayle has set a lot of magnificent records in the shorter formats and the one record that will be very hard to break is the highest individual score in T20 cricket of 175 not out. In the 2013 IPL, Chris Gayle played for the Royal Challengers Bangalore and he managed to produce one of the incredible batting performances in T20 cricket.

He scored a fantastic 175 not out against the now-defunct Pune Warriors India franchise and ripped apart the bowling attack to all parts of the ground. Gayle had a strike rate of 265. 15 and he finished with 13 fours and 17 sixes in the innings. It was a monumental effort and here are 3 batsmen who can break Chris Gayle’s record of 175* in T20 Cricket.

The aggressive opener David Warner is certainly capable of breaking any record and he can be very attacking as well. He has been doing a great job at the opening position for Australia for a long time now and has been one of the masters of the IPL too with some excellent numbers in the format.

Warner has a strike rate of nearly 140 in both IPL as well as T20 internationals and he is one of the best in the business in smashing the bowlers around the ground. He is a natural six-hitter and he can make a really big score in T20s when he gets going. 126 has been the highest score in T20 cricket but it can change very quickly if he finds his best touch.

Jonny Bairstow:

The England wicketkeeper-batsman Jonny Bairstow has been one of the best white ball-players in the world at the moment and he generates some immense power with the bat. Bairstow is one of the dangerous players with the bat and he uses the bottom hand a lot while striking the big ones.

Bairstow has shown in the IPL for the Sunrisers Hyderabad that he is capable of getting those big scores and has already scored a quickfire century. He has a strike rate of more than 140 in IPL and it will not be a surprise if he can get past the score of 175 by Chris Gayle. Bairstow is one of the fearsome strikers of the cricket ball and he is certainly up for a big one in the corner.

Rohit Sharma:

The Indian vice-captain Rohit Sharma is one of the best limited-overs players in the world and he already holds the record for the highest individual score in ODI cricket with an unmatchable 264 against Sri Lanka. Rohit is one of the best timers of the cricket ball and he is very elegant while hitting the big ones too.

Rohit can be very aggressive in T20s as well and he has already scored the most number of T20 internationals centuries with four to his name. He can be very consistent with his six-hitting and looks like the best candidate to surpass the individual record of Chris Gayle’s 175 in T20 cricket.
