Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) defeated Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the only game they played against each other in IPL 2022. As it turned out, KKR finished seventh this year and it was another disappointing year for RCB, as well as their dreams of winning their maiden IPL title, remained distant.
RCB qualified for the playoffs back to back in 2021 and 2022 albeit with a bit of luck but the side failed to use the luck to their advantage. They were beaten by Rajasthan Royals in the second qualifier. Eventually, it was the Gujarat Titans who won their maiden IPL title by beating the Royals in the final.

KKR might not release any of their mainstream bowlers who did well for them throughout IPL 2022. Mohammad Nabi did not play a single game last year and it is highly likely that he might be released so that KKR can find a better all-round player ahead of IPL 2023.
This gives Bangalore a chance to snap up Nabi and use his experience in the middle-order for their own good. The Afghanistan skipper has scored more than 5000 T20 runs and taken a whole lot of wickets as well.
