The Indian Legends have been on a roll in the ongoing Road Safety World Series 2021 topping the points table in the tournament so far with an excellent net run-rate. The reason behind the success of the Indian legends team has been excellent contributions from the stars of the Indian cricket team who have retired very recently.

They showed a lot of hitting prowess still and do not look like they have been out of the game. The class has remained in them throughout their career and was on show at Raipur for the fans out there. Virender Sehwag produced a swashbuckling knock of 80 runs from just 35 balls to take India to a dominating victory against the Bangladesh legends in the Road Safety World Series 2021 league stage. In the process, he brought up his half-century in just 20 deliveries which was the fastest in the tournament.

He started off the innings with a boundary of the first ball bringing back the memories of the famous 2011 World Cup where he started the innings with a boundary on most of the occasions. He registered to the fans out there that he has still got the goods in him to deliver for the team if needed and it was so much entertainment on the field when he is batting.

Sachin Tendulkar, popularly known as the “god of cricket” showed the fans why he is named so and exhibited a masterclass of an innings in the game against South Africa legends yesterday. Batting first, the Indian legends lost Virender Sehwag early and needed Sachin to bat throughout the innings.

He batted with pure class scoring 60 off 37 deliveries and the straight drives were pinch perfect showing signs of his old class with 9 fours and one six at a strike rate of 162. The legendary batsman looks ready for international cricket still and could be effective enough if he comes back into the Indian team.

The first person in the T20 international cricket to hit six sixes in an over, Yuvraj Singh had all the timing and power still in him and was visible in his innings of 52 not out in just 22 deliveries yesterday against the South African legends. He hit an array of ‘half a dozen sixes and the crowd enjoyed the entertainment wholeheartedly.

The legendary left-hander has always been an excellent striker of the cricket ball and he looked pretty solid at the crease during his knock yesterday. Apart from that, he has been bowling well too chipping in with two overs in every match and has been economical during his spells. He would have reconsidered his retirement plans after his excellent display of batting in recent times.

The left-arm seamer has been phenomenal with his batting skills during his knock of 61 runs of 34 deliveries and showed why he has one of the best all-rounders during his time. He had batted at three for India and still looks pretty good at the crease timing his boundaries exceedingly well.

The all-rounder has also taken the new ball for the Indian legends and has been chipping in with wickets at times. He still looks fitter and ready for the international stages again. He hit five sixes in the match against England legends and almost pulled off the victory for the India legends alongside Manpreet Gony.

Yusuf Pathan was one of the most feared batsmen in his time and had the capability to turn around matches on his own. He was part of two world cup winning campaigns in the 2007 T20 World Cup and 2011 50-over World Cup and has always had long-hitting skills in him. He has taken 10 wickets in the Road Safety World series already.

Yusuf’s knock of 23 off 10 deliveries reminded the fans of the power and hitting skills he has got in him still with two sixes and two fours at a strike rate of 230. The 38-year-old has shown signs that he has still a lot of cricket left in him despite retiring from the game and could be a handy all-rounder if needed.
