Abhishek Sharma will be dropped!! Pakistan star campaigns for Samson, Gill, Iyer and Jaiswal's T20I selection: The India National Cricket Team suffered their first loss after 17-matches, they have been handed a 76-run defeat by South Africa in their first Super 8 game at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad, on Sunday. Ahead of India’s next match against Zimbabwe on 26th February, at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai, former Pakistan opener Ahmed Shehzad, on the talk show named Hasna Mana Hain, has dropped his comments on Suryakumar Yadav’s side batting performances and also discussed the reigning champions’ qualification scenario to the semi-final as well.

'Gautam Gambhir’s plans are not working'- Ahmed Shehzad

Ahmed Shehzad said, “The bowling attack is not complete. They don’t have Kuldeep, who is his main wicket-taker. Jasprit Bumrah held back the runs towards the end. Otherwise, the team would have scored around 220 runs, and Gautam Gambhir’s plans are not working. I think they need to rethink their strategies.”

'He needs to take some time'- Ahmed Shehzad on Abhishek Sharma

Further, Ahmed Shehzad spoke about Abhishek Sharma’s form, and he lashed out at him, saying that he just cannot keep on striking every delivery as it is international cricket, and after failing in multiple innings, he will surely be under pressure, with India having talents like Yashasvi Jaiswalm Shubman Gill and Shreyas Iyer sitting out.

Shehzad said, “I like Abhishek Sharma a lot. As Aamir said, he needs to take some time at the crease. Don’t premeditate shots before the ball is bowled. This is international cricket, you can’t decide in advance where you’re going to hit. Watch the ball, stay balanced in your position, and then play your stroke.”

India have multiple talents sitting out

“It’s fine to attack that may be your role but at least assess the delivery first. This isn’t casual cricket where you can hit the ball wherever you want. If players keep getting out while playing reckless shots, they will only build pressure on themselves.”

“There are many talented youngsters coming through, and such players do entertain the crowd. But if they continue like this, the pressure from the country will be immense. India has passionate cricket lovers.”

Ahmed Shehzad concluded, saying, “That is why players like Shubman Gill have faced setbacks, Shreyas Iyer is out of the team, Sanju Samson isn’t playing, and Yashasvi Jaiswal hasn’t been given consistent opportunities. The pressure in a World Cup is enormous, and performances ultimately decide selection. Whatever Mohammad Amir has said about this situation is not entirely wrong.”

India need to find out the reason for its collapse, and hopefully make a comeback in the next fixture and qualify for the last four. Suryakumar Yadav’s side might have some changes in the next Super 8 game.
