AFG vs NZ: Afghanistan Cricket Board exposed, financial motives behind staging one-off Test in Greater Noida revealed

Afghanistan National Cricket Team and the New Zealand National Cricket Team as per schedule are slated to lock horns in the one-off Test match. The game between the two teams is all set to be played at the Shaheed Vijay Singh Pathik Sports Complex in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh.

Notably, the match was supposed to start on Monday (20th September) but so far the game hasn't taken place at all. First day of the match was washed out by the rain and the wet outfield and it was expected that the game would begin on the second day. But the wet outfield didn't allow the match to take place on Day 2 either.

Following this, the Greater Noida stadium has come under massive scanner. It has seen the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) getting criticized a lot for the poor facilities at the stadium. There have been reports that the venue also lacks the basic facilities and the players are unhappy with it.

The stadium, which is under the jurisdiction of the Greater Noida Authority, has seen many questioning the higher bodies for the arrangements, especially with the international match being slated to take place. Even Afghanistan Cricket Board officials also stated that they won't be playing here next time.

With the stadium under serious scanner, a fresh report has made a massive claim. As per the reports in Times now, it is learned that some people of the Greater Noida Authority along with the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) organized the match during the rainy season at the stadium to make some money.

The source confirmed the development and also stated that UPCA contacted the Afghanistan Cricket Board to discuss the venue but they didn't say anything. He stated that Kanpur stadium was offered to them as well. He elaborated:

"This stadium comes under Greater Noida Authority. Some of its people and some people from Afghanistan Cricket organised a match in Greater Noida during the rainy season to make money.

"UPCA called several times to say let's have a meeting. We will give you whatever you need. We have experience, it will be easy for you. UPCA said that the match should be held in Green Park because UP League is being held in Ekana."

They took away workers from Labour Chowk to manage the ground - source blames Afghanistan Cricket Board officials

The source also made a massive statement, saying that the authorities got the workers from the Labour Chowk to manage the ground. He also revealed that a super sopper was made available after the ACB sent a WhatsApp message to a person from the UPCA.

"They took away workers from Labour Chowk to manage the ground. Have you ever seen such a thing? A WhatsApp was sent to a person from UPCA after which the Super Sopper was made available in the stadium," he concluded.
