In the last few days, Yuvraj Singh's father Yograj Singh has been in the headlines only for the wrong reasons. Yograj had given controversial statements on India's legendary World Cup-winning captains Kapil Dev and MS Dhoni.

This time, he has given a statement on Arjun Tendulkar, son of the legendary India cricketer Sachin Tendulkar. Arjun Tendulkar is an emerging pace bowler who plays domestic cricket for Goa. He has also played IPL cricket for Mumbai Indians and is currently a part of their squad.

Yograj Singh calls Arjun Tendulkar "Koyla"

It is believed that Yograj Singh had coached Arjun Tendulkar during the start of the latter's career. During a recent interview, Yograj was asked about his experience of coaching Arjun Tendulkar where he compared him to a coal.

"Aapne heera dekha hai koyle ki khan mein? Wo koyla hi hai (Have you seen a diamond in a coal mine? He is the coal)," Yograj said as quoted by TOI.

Yograj's comparison of Arjun Tendulkar with coal has sparked controversy. He claimed that if Arjun is given the right coach, he can go on to become a great cricketer but if he doesn't get the right coach, his career might be destroyed.

"Nikalo patthar hi hai, kisi tarashgir ke haath me dalo to chamak ke duniya ko kohinoor ban jata hai (It is coal that is rock when taken out from a mine, but if it is given in proper hands, it goes on to become Kohinoor. It is priceless. But if that same diamond reaches a person who does not know its worth, he destroys it," Yograj said in the interview.

"I was abused 'Hitler, Dragon Singh" - Yograj Singh

Yograj Singh further mentioned that he was called by the names of Hitler and Dragon Singh in his home. He also praised his son Yuvraj Singh for becoming a great cricketer.

"I don't say it myself that Yograj Singh is a great crafter, Yuvraj Singh says it, 'there is magic in my dad's hand, he made me what I am.' Earlier, I was abused 'Hitler, Dragon Singh, I hate my father'. Everybody hated me in my home. My relatives said, I should not have been a father. But he walked his path. And by God's Grace you got Yuvraj Singh," he stated.

Meanwhile, Yuvraj Singh himself accepted during a podcast that his father has some mental issues but he does not want to accept it.

A few days ago, Yograj Singh had accused the former India captain MS Dhoni of destroying the career of his son Yuvraj Singh. Notably, Yuvraj Singh played a key role for India in winning the historic ODI World Cup 2011 title. However, he was diagnosed with cancer and it affected the latter part of his career.

Yograj had also used inappropriate comments on the 1983 World Cup-winning captain Kapil Dev by comparing Kapil's no. of trophies with his son Yuvraj Singh's trophies.
