Indian speedster Jasprit Bumrah and his ICC broadcaster wife Sanjana Ganesan couldn't help but blush over each other and somehow control their smiles before shifting their emotions into professional mode after Team India’s thrilling win over Pakistan in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024.

Bumrah’s wife, Sanjana, is presently serving as an ICC Digital Insider for the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024. After India's six-run victory over Pakistan in the T20 World Cup 2024 group match in New York, the proud wife had the opportunity to interview the hero of the last-over thriller, Bumrah.

Bumrah’s heroics with the ball helped the Indian cricket team pull off a memorable win against the Men in Green. The Indian pacer returned with stunning figures of 3/14 in his 4 overs in the thriller, and he was adjudged Player of the Match for his remarkable contribution to India’s win.

It was Bumrah’s back-to-back Player of the Match award, having earned the honor in the opening game against Ireland in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024. After the match, the star pacer spoke about his performance against Pakistan in New York with Sanjana.

Jasprit Bumrah said on ICC: “Yeah, it was a good day. The wicket did change after a while because the wicket that we played on last time had a lot more help. But in the morning, it was overcast, and then later on, the sun opened up, and, you know, the wicket did dry up. So, it did get better to bat on. So, it was, you know, slightly better to bat on. So, the seam and the swing were smaller.

But yeah, we are very happy that we were able to pull it off with, you know, constant pressure, trying to be clear with what we want to do, and trying to make run-scoring difficult. So, I was very happy that, you know, we were together, we were very clear, and we never panicked at any stage. So, that's a great sign for us going forward as well.”

Jasprit Bumrah opens up about Mohammad Rizwan's wicket

During a conversation with Sanjana, Bumrah reflected on the turning point for India when he dismissed Mohammad Rizwan. He explained that he assessed the situation and focused on what was working for him, aiming to not allow batters to take runs in the match. Despite the ball staying low, Bumrah executed his plan well, shifting momentum in India's favor.

When asked if Rizwan is becoming a favorite wicket, Bumrah stressed that his focus was on helping his team win the game rather than targeting specific players. He expressed pleasure in contributing to the team's success and dismissed any notion of targeting a particular player.

The star cricketer noted, “Today's the day to celebrate that win against Pakistan. We're looking ahead.” At the end of their chat, the cricket world got to see the typical husband-wife, as Bumrah said, “I’ll see you in 30 minutes,” to which Sanjana asked about the “dinner”, leaving the fans in awe for the couple as they were showering love on them in the comment section.
