Former Pakistan cricketer Ahmed Shehzad has hit out at PCB Chief Mohsin Naqvi after the Men in Green lost to Bangladesh in the first Test in Rawalpindi. It was a landmark win for Bangladesh as it was their first against Pakistan in Test cricket.

The loss has pushed Pakistan back to the ninth position on the WTC 2023-25 points table. Meanwhile, Bangladesh has now moved up to the sixth position on the table.

Targeting PCB Chief Mohsin Naqvi, Shehzad has said that, Naqvi is not interested in improving the condition of Pakistan cricket and the correct men responsible should come forward and look to change the team's outlook.

He further said that Nqvi's false promises of improving cricketing infrastructure and renovation of stadiums will not improve the condition of the Pakistan cricket team.

"When you lost to India in the T20 World Cup, you said that you would need to go do surgery on the team perhaps influenced by the media but you did not do so," Ahmed Shehzad said.

You tried bluffing the fans thinking that you would buy some time. You thought that we would beat Bangladesh in the next series and try to cover up the loss to India. Yet again it did not happen" said Ahmed Shehzad.

"The changes that were needed to be done, you did not go, the changes that were needed to be done you feared doing them," Ahmed Shehzad lashed out.

"We all heard that Mr. Mohsin Naqvi was a powerful and shrewd personality when he became the next Chairman of PCB," Ahmed Shehzad claimed.

It was said that if someone can change the fortunes of Pakistan cricket it was Mohsin Naqvi, however, we did not see anything of that sort. The decisions which he is making prove that he does not have any idea of the game" Ahmed Shehzad further said.

He further said that the real reason behind the decline of Pakistan cricket is because the same personalities and handling of their cricket and the board and the state of Pakistan cricket have remained the same.

Speaking about the Test match, Pakistan batting first put up a mammoth 448/6 and decided to declare. Bangladesh in their first innings posted 565 taking a crucial 117-run lead. In the second innings.

The Bangladesh bowlers helped the team bounce make courtesy of their spinners. Shakib Al Hasan took three and Mehidy Hasan took four to derail the Pakistan second innings.

They were bowled out for 146 runs leaving Bangladesh just 30 runs to win in their second innings which they did without losing a wicket. Bangladesh registered a 10-wicket victory in the process.

This was the first instance of Bangladesh winning a Test in which their opponent declared an innings.

Their total of 565 all-out in the first innings is now their highest team total in a winning cause. For Pakistan, not playing a spinner was a big selection mistake which has been the talking point since the defeat.

PCB Chief Mohsin Naqvi meanwhile has lauded Bangladesh for their historic Test win and has backed Pakistan to make a comeback in the next Test match.
