Australian cricket management is hopeful that ace pacer Josh Hazlewood will be fit for the team’s six-Test tour in England, where they will play ICC World Test Championship Final against India followed by five-Test Ashes 2023 series.

Josh Hazlewood has been out of the action for a while now. The pacer suffered an Achilles tendonitis injury during Australia’s home season and since then has been out of action. He missed the Test series against India and has also been on the sidelines in the ongoing IPL 2023.

Hazlewood has joined Royal Challengers Bangalore but there’s no confirmation about when will he play. The pacer has been named in Australia’s squad for the ICC World Test Championship Final against India and the first two Tests of the Ashes.

Australia’s chair of selectors George Bailey said that they are hopeful that Josh Hazlewood will be back to his full capacity through IPL and will be at his best in the Ashes 2023. He said (as quoted by Cricbuzz):

“Josh Hazlewood is still building back to his full capacity through the IPL, so hopefully he gets a few games over there in the back half of that tournament and starts to ramp up his return.
