The 3rd day of the first Test match between England & Australia hangs in equal balance. England have lost 2 wickets for 28 runs and has a lead of 35 runs. The main talking point of Day 3 was the breach of the code of conduct by Moeen Ali. Moeen Ali accepted the sanction as he sprayed on his finger with the ball in hand.

Australian side has a strenuous task ahead of them as it looks likely that England would apply ultra attacking approach as knocks of 40-odd runs can be defining given the depth England has in their batting lineup.

England perhaps might change their batting order as Jonny Bairstow may get a promotion ahead of Harry Brook. Bairstow showed his worth by playing a magnificent knock of 78 runs in 78 balls and struck 12 fours and was in a beast mode.

The shrewd spinner Nathan Lyon would be targeted as his role would be pivotal as it looks unlikely that Travis Head, the part-time off-spinner would roll his arm in this pinnacle clash.

“25% fine for this is a bit of ‘overspin’ on the issue when you know Moeen was not using it for any other purpose than to prevent his blister getting worse! He could of (have) left the ground repeatedly disguising the spray but did it openly. Fair play given the finger! #Ashes2023,” said Brad Hogg.
