He Does Them And He Lives Them – Jack Leach

Speaking on the Vaughany and Tuffers podcast, Jack Leach stated that Ben Stokes can hit the ball from the start when the team gets off to a good start.

“Stokesy makes you want to run through a brick wall for him, because you know he’d do the same. It feels weird to me that Ben Stokes would run through a brick wall for Jack Leach. I don’t get it. But he would. He’s not just saying things. He does them and he lives them,” Leach said.

“Look at Stokes. When he goes in at 400 for five, he usually hits one straight up. When he goes in at 100 for five, he will take his time, do what he needs to do, and then go at the right time. Very smart. He’s the greatest example for us to look up to,” he added.

The Mentality Has Really Helped Me – Jack Leach

Jack Leach emphasized the positive impact of the “Bazball” mentality on his overall mindset and life. The left-arm spinner highlighted the team’s belief in their ability to turn things around.

“I know Baz hates [the term] Bazball. But for me, the mentality has really helped me in general life. It has helped me for sure. That’s why I’ve been such an advocate of it, and feel it’s been such a powerful thing that people can use in any walk of life,” he further stated.

“Before play, after play, we talk as a group. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve had times over the last year where I’ve walked off the field and thought that’s a bad day, Baz can’t be positive about that, what are they going to say?

A few minutes later, I’m walking back to the hotel, saying ‘get two wickets in the morning and we are fine!” he concluded.
