Ashes 2017/18: Twitter Mocks Sir Ian Botham After Australia Regains Urn in Perth

Ahead of the start of the Magellan Ashes Down Under, there was a lot of talk about the Australian batting line-up, as many of them termed them, as the worst Australian batting order they have ever seen.

They had only David Warner and Steven Smith in their ranks as the recognised batsmen, who had done wonders for their teams in the past.

However, the batsmen slammed their critics by posting big totals on the scoreboards, as the contributions came from different batsmen.

Notably, England legend Sir Ian Botham slammed Australia???s batting order as ???one of the poorest I???ve seen??? and questioning the fitness of the home side???s fast-bowling attack.

???England should be feeling bullish about their chances of winning the Ashes because Australia???s batting line-up is one of the poorest I???ve seen,??? the 61-year-old Botham wrote in his column for The Mirror before the start of the Ashes.

However, the host Australia has now completely decimated England, as they regained the urn by beating them 3-0 to clinch the Ashes with two matches still to go. Australia has outpowered the visiting England team in all the departments, as everybody has proved their mettle given an opportunity.

Earlier on Monday, Australia beat England by an innings and 41 runs after declaring the innings at 662 runs for the loss of nine wickets in reply to England???s 403.

Mitchell Marsh registered his first Test hundred, as he slammed 181 runs after getting an opportunity in place of Peter Handscomb. On the other hand, Australian skipper Steven Smith scored his second double hundred to knock the visitors out of the game.

Josh Hazlewood bagged a fifer, and well supported by Nathan Lyon and Pat Cummins to regain the Ashes back.
