Former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly reckons that the selectors have picked the strongest possible squad for the Asia Cup 2023. Sourav Ganguly highlighted that Indian cricketers have to play good cricket in the Asia Cup and ODI World Cup 2023 to win titles.
On Monday, August 21, chairman of selectors Ajit Agarkar announced India’s 17-member squad for the upcoming six-team tournament. KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, Jasprit Bumrah, and Prasidh Krishna returned to the squad after recovering from their respective injuries.
Just Have To Play Good Determined Cricket – Sourav Ganguly
Reflecting on India’s squad, Sourav Ganguly stated that India have the strongest bowling attack, emphasizing that they couldn’t have picked a better one than this.
“The bowling attack – Shami Bumrah Siraj and Prasidh – cannot have a better bowling attack than this,” Ganguly told Star Sports.
“India is a fantastic side – they just have to play good determined cricket in Asia Cup and World Cup,” he added.
India Has Enormous Talent – Sourav Ganguly
Ganguly addressed the ongoing No. 4 batting position issue, highlighting that India have the talent to fill that role in the upcoming matches.
“India has enormous talent. I keep hearing about this… we don’t have this or that but we have too much and that is the problem that we cannot decide,” Ganguly told the reporters in an event in Mumbai.
