Indian skipper Rohit Sharma feels that India need to prepare for all teams in Asia Cup 2023 and it’s not just Pakistan they need to focus on. India and Pakistan are set to lock horns in Asia Cup 2023 on September 2.
Asia Cup 2023 begins on August 30. India are part of Group A with Pakistan and Nepal in their group. India will play their opening clash against Pakistan on September 2 at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Sri Lanka.

During the Asia Cup 2023 squad announcement press conference, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma was asked about facing Pakistan in Asia Cup 2023. To this, Sharma pointed out that it is not just Pakistan that the team needs to focus on and they have to prepare for all.
“It’s just not Pakistan; Sri Lanka won the Asia cup last time. Other good teams will challenge us. Not just one team, we have to prepare for all,” Rohit Sharma said.

Talking about ICC World Cup 2023, Rohit Sharma said that playing at home gives a little bit of an advantage to India. However, he also pointed out that many overseas players are playing in India nowadays.
“I don’t believe in underdogs and favorites tags. You have to play well to win. All the teams will be here to win and play hard. Playing at home just gives you a little bit of advantage but at the same time so many overseas cricketers play in India now a days,” the right-handed batsman further said.

There are two groups in Asia Cup 2023. India, Nepal, and Pakistan are part of Group A. Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh are members of Group B. Aisa Cup 2023 will witness 13 games. The final takes place on September 17.

Meanwhile, India have named a 17-member squad for Asia Cup 2023. KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer have made a comeback to the national team. Yuzvendra Chahal was dropped from the team while Tilak Varma was inducted into the squad. Ishan Kishan was picked as back-up wicketkeeper while Sanju Samson was chosen as a reserve player.
