Former Pakistan pacer Mohammad Amir recently revealed his top three favourite cricketers in world cricket at the moment. Mohammad Amir named former Indian skipper Virat Kohli and Pakistan skipper Babar Azam as his two favourite cricketers. Additionally, Amir made a surprising pick for the third spot.

Despite being opponents on the field, Amir often lauded Kohli, while the Indian batter showed his respect for the talented pacer. The mutual respect and admiration between two cricketers illustrate the mutual regard and sportsmanship that can transcend country boundaries in the game of cricket.

He Will Be The Next Big Thing For India – Mohammad Amir

During a recent Q&A session on his YouTube channel, Mohammad Amir named young Indian player Shubman Gill as his third favourite ahead of other renowned cricketers like Rohit Sharma.

“Virat [Kohli], Babar is my favourite apart from T20s. He is my favourite in Tests and ODIs. Finally, Shubman Gill, as I feel he will be the next big thing for India in future, if he maintains his current form,” Amir was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan on his YouTube channel.

Boult Is Number One For Me – Mohammad Amir

When asked about his favourite bowlers, Mohammad Amir chose New Zealand pacer Trent Boult as his number one pick, followed by Pakistani pacer Naseem Shah in second place and Australian bowler Mitchell Starc in third place.

“[Trent] Boult, he is number one for me, then Naseem Shah. These are bowlers, who I feel are complete bowlers and can play all formats. And third would be Mitchell Starc,” he added.

You Can’t Write Them Off In Asian Conditions – Mohammad Amir

The 31-year-old believes that the Babar Azam-led team will reach the semi-final matches in the upcoming ODI World Cup, which is scheduled to be played in India later this year. He warned other teams not to underestimate the team in the marquee event.

“Pakistan will be in top four and you can’t write them off in Asian conditions,” he further stated.

Mohammad Amir expressed his admiration for former Pakistan coach Mickey Arthur, naming him his favourite coach. Amir credited Arthur’s influence during his time with the Pakistan national team. He concluded by saying that Arthur’s coaching style and guidance played a pivotal role in his career.
