I’ve Accepted Things Which Aren’t In My Control: Varun Chakravarthy
During an interview with Sportskeeda, the KKR spinner Varun Chakravarthy shared his feelings after not getting picked for Asian Games 2023. Many youngsters who performed well in IPL 2023 were selected for Asian Games 2023 squad. Chakravarthy said that he is in a zone where he has accepted things that aren’t under his control.
“Right now, I am not in that zone of wanting to be picked. I’ve kind of come into a zone where I’ve accepted things which aren’t in my control. As you can see, there are great players who have been dropped”, the 31-year-old spinner said.

However, the spinner also added that he would definitely try to analyze how he can improve his bowling.
“But if I am not picked, I definitely call up and ask someone about what I can do better. But I always think that, I am always grateful for getting to play cricket for six years now and, I’d like to play for another 10 years. So I’m just looking in that direction,” Varun Chakravarthy further added.
Varun Chakravarthy tasted a lot of success in 2021 when he made his India debut and was also selected in the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 squad. However, post India’s humiliating group-stage exit in the tournament, the Tamil Nadu spinner never wore the Indian jersey again.
The Karnataka-born spinner last played in Tamil Nadu Premier League 2023 (TNPL 2023). With 13 wickets in 9 games, he executed a wonderful performance for his team Dindigul Dragons. Overall, he ended as the 4th highest wicket-taker in the season, which took place from June 12-July 12.
