Australian opener David Warner opened up about the challenge of facing Jofra Archer and Mark Wood in the upcoming game of the T20 World Cup 2024 against England. He said that T20 is different as compared to Tests and all he needs to do is use their pace.

Australia will be taking on England in one of the most exciting clashes of the T20 World Cup 2024. The match between the two arch-rivals will take place on Friday (June 7th) at the Kensington Oval in Barbados.

Going into the game, England’s bowling lineup which includes Jofra Archer and Mark Wood will be one of the key factors for the team. On the other hand, Australia’s batting lineup is equally good and it promises to be an enthralling clash.

David Warner will be a vital asset for Australia in the game against England. The battle between him and Jofra Archer and Mark Wood will be one of the key battles to watch out for. The pace bowling duo has troubled Australian batters a lot in the past.

On the other hand, David Warner started the tournament on high. He didn’t look in great touch in IPL but he slammed a vital half-century for his team in the first game against Oman. He scored 56 from 51 balls and helped his team win the game.

David Warner talked about the battle against Mark Wood and Jofra Archer, claiming that T20 is a different format. He also talked about the conditions in Barbados and added that variation in bounce will be a surprising factor. Speaking to media, he explained:

"You just have to use their pace. Test cricket they set different fields, different balls. In Twenty20 cricket, you only have to get half an edge on it and it can go. So there's a fair difference. I've played a lot of cricket over here. You are expecting it to be low rather than bounce unless it is really short.

“The variation in bounce is what surprises you. Because when they pitch the ball that eight-metre [from the stumps] length, your instinct is to pull it. But you have to go back to targeting straight, backing yourself, and if it does bounce, so be it."

The criticism doesn't fuel me - David Warner

David Warner, who was criticized a lot for his poor performances in the IPL, said that criticism doesn’t fuel him. He and that he has no answer to people’s questions and he doesn’t pay much heed to it. He elaborated:

"It [the criticism] doesn't fuel me. It's in one ear, out the other. I don't understand why it's all about myself. There are 11 players in the team. I don't get it.

“People feel like they have to keep criticising the way I play. I don't know what it is. I have no answer as to why people write that. I have had it my whole career. I don't listen to it,” he concluded.
