AUS vs ENG Match Preview 3rd ODI, England Tour Of Australia 2022. Australia takes on England in the third ODI in Melbourne on November 22. The visitors have already lost the three-match series and are now looking to avoid a whitewash.

Australia won the first ODI by six wickets and the second by 72 runs. Both the captains did not play in the previous game and both are expected to return for this final fixture.

The Aussies have completely dominated the English side in the first two games. Steve Smith scored his second fifty on the trot to guide Australia to a score of 280. Marnus Labuscnagne and Mitchell Marsh scored the fifties as well.

After the batters did their job, the bowlers did their part very professionally. Mitchell Starc and Adam Zampa took four wickets each to bundle out Australia for just 208.

England previously won the T20I series before the T20 World Cup. Both teams have resumed their rivalry with this ODI series. The ODI series ends on November 22 at the MCG.

Australia then travels to England in June next year for the Ashes. The series will constitute five Tests between June 16 to July 31. The Aussies were the winners of the previous Ashes series by 4-0 in their own backyard.

The AUS vs ENG 3rd ODI starts at 2.20 pm local time. Australia, having won the series might give opportunities to Sean Abbott and Josh Inglish both of who are yet to play a game in the series. Pat Cummins, who rested in the previous game might make a comeback in the XI as well.

The Australian top-order has got runs in this series. David Warner, Steve Smith, Marnus Labuschagne, and Mitchell Marsh all have scored the fifties in the series so far. Their bowlers have been clinical as well in the first two games. They would like to finish with another good performance as a batting group.

England have been thoroughly outplayed in the first two games. In two venues with good batting conditions, England have scored below-par totals. Apart from Dawid Malan, no other England batter has gotten any sizeable score so far in the series. The opening partnership has been another major problem. Jason Roy has scored 6 and o in the first two games and might be dropped with Jos Buttler returning to the side.

The retirement of Ben Stokes has disturbed the balance of the side. He recently played a big part in England’s T20 World Cup win with an unbeaten 52 and in the final. He also took six wickets in the tournament as well including one in the final. The bowlers will need to step up if England are to avoid a whitewash in Melbourne. The side has failed to translate their T20I template into ODIs, particularly in this series.
