The AUS vs SL ICC World Cup 2023 match will be played in Lucknow on October 16. The match starts from 2 pm IST with Australia and Sri Lanka both losing their first two games. Australia heading into this game placed ninth on the points table.

Australia have been hit hard by early losses against India and South Africa in their first two games. They are led by Pat Cummins and are in a must-win territory in the remaining seven games. They potentially need to win all their remaining games to stay alive in the tournament. The AUS vs SL match is a make-or-break game for them.

Sri Lanka, on the other hand, is placed seventh on the points table with two losses and an NRR of -1.161. They are also in a must-win territory after suffering two big losses. They lost by 102 runs against South Africa, while Pakistan tracked a record score against them to beat them in the second game.

The AUS vs SL match will be played in Lucknow. Australia having already played a game will have a slight advantage in knowing the conditions. Their spin attack, however, looks depleted with Adam Zampa and Glenn Maxwell the only two spin options. Ashton Agar being ruled out of the tournament came as a big blow to them. They are also awaiting the fitness update of Travis Head who is nursing an injured left arm. He could have been the third spin option had he been fit.
