AUS vs SL: Watch - Pat Cummins Rattles Kusal Perera's Stumps In World Cup

Australia captain Pat Cummins has marshaled his troops well in the ongoing match 14 of the ICC World Cup 2023 against Sri Lanka. The skipper stepped up big time when his side looked down at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow. 

Sri Lanka had a great start with the bat as Pathum Nissanka (61) and Kusal Mendis added 125 runs for the opening partnership. They put Australia under immense pressure and it didn’t look that wickets would come easily with the way the two batters were batting. 

However, skipper Pat Cummins took the responsibility and brought his side back in the game. The fast bowler sent Pathum Nissanka packing in the 22nd over, thanks to the brilliance of David Warner and the castled Kusal Perera with a beauty of a delivery in Lucknow. 

Pat Cummins came around the wicket and bowled a length delivery that was angling in. Kusal Perera tried to play it across and ended up playing wrongly. He got beaten on the inside edge and off stump was left shattered.

Kusal Perera, who was short of runs, batted magnificently and would’ve gained his confidence. He gave his team a great start as he scored 78 runs and played some blistering strokes. He provided a platform for the other batters to post a big total. 

AUS vs SL: After Pat Cummins’ Twin strikes, Adam Zampa Takes two wickets 

Adam Zampa supported his skipper Pat Cummins well after he removed both the openers. The leg-spinner spun a web around the Sri Lanka batters as he first removed Kusal Mendis for 9 runs. He bowled a flighted delivery to which the batter got a top edge and was caught at deep square leg by David Warner. 

After that Adam Zampa in his very next over removed Sadeera Samarawickrama. The leg-spinner trapped the Sri Lanka batter in lbw. He bowled a tossed-up googly that was struck in front of his leg and the batter was back in the hut for 8 runs.
