Australia National Cricket Team Test captain Pat Cummins has announced the playing XI of his side for the first Test match of the series against the West Indies National Cricket Team.

Pat Cummins-led Australia National Cricket Team and Kraigg Brathwaite-led West Indies National Cricket Team are all set to lock horns in a two-match Test series. The first Test will be played from November 30 to December 4 in Perth and the second Test will be held in Adelaide from December 8 to December 12.

The Aussies have made just one change to the playing XI from their previous Test against Sri Lanka, which was played at the Galle International Stadium in July. Mitchell Swepson has been dropped from the side and Josh Hazlewood has been included in the playing XI.

Australia’s pace battery against West Indies will consist of Cummins, Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood while Cameron Green will be the fourth pace-bowling option and Nathan Lyon will be the sole spinner in the playing XI.

The 29-year-old Cummins mentioned that there are no surprises in their playing XI and anyone could have named it 12 months ago. He said:

You probably could have picked it 12 months ago. Everyone has done well to get them fit and firing for this series and we’re in a really good place. Easy decision.”

Cummins further talked about the Perth surface, where the first Test match will be played. He stated:

“I don’t really know what to expect, I can’t really read wickets. But it looks there’s a bit of grass. It’s hot today, hot first day (of the Test) so it might crack up. But no idea really.

“T20s and Big Bash games I’ve seen, it’s always fast and bouncy when you come over here, which you’d hope for in Perth.”
