Australia National Cricket Team limited-overs captain Aaron Finch is all set to make an announcement on his international future ahead of the third and final ODI match of the series against the New Zealand National Cricket Team, as per a report in The West Australian.
Australia National Cricket Team have already sealed the three-match ODI series against the New Zealand National Cricket Team by registering victories in the first two games by 2 wickets and 113 runs respectively. The third ODI is set to be played at the Cazaly’s Stadium in Cairns on Sunday, September 11.

Meanwhile, Australia white-ball captain Aaron Finch, who plays as an opener, has been struggling with the bat for an extended period. If reports are to be believed the out-of-form batter is set to front the media where he will likely reveal whether or not his ODI career will continue.
In his last 11 ODI games, the top-order batter has scored just 146 runs at an extremely poor average of 13, including four ducks.
The 3rd ODI Between Trans-Tasman Rivals Could Be Aaron Finch’s Last ODI Game
The same report further stated that the final ODI match between the Australia National Cricket Team and New Zealand National Cricket Team could be the last match of the 35-year-old in ODI cricket. Also, the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia could be his final stint in international cricket.
Although Aaron Finch has been struggling to perform well with the bat, his captaincy has remained top-notch during this period. Australia have already named their squad for the World Cup and Finch will be captaining the side. Also, a change in captaincy is highly unlikely.
Aaron Finch, who was part of the side that won the 2015 ODI World Cup and the 2021 T20 World Cup, has played 145 ODIs and has scored 5401 runs at an average of 39.1, including 17 centuries. Also, he has played 92 T20Is and has scored 2855 runs at an average of 35.2, including 2 centuries.
