In the T20I series on Tuesday, Bangladesh defeated England with a record clean sweep victory of 3-0. The world champions were shocked by the Shakib Al Hasan-led team, who won the series finale by 16 runs while holding England to a 159-run total in Dhaka.
After a George Bailey-led squad defeated England 3-0 in 2014, this was the first T20I clean-sweep series loss for England in nine years. This was the first time Bangladesh has ever recorded a whitewash in the game’s shortest version against a full-member nation.

Wasim Jaffer directed a scathing tweet at Michael Vaughan:
Following their crushing victory, Bangladesh U19 batting guru Wasim Jaffer unleashed a scathing tweet on former England captain Michael Vaughan. Wasim Jaffer and Vaughan had been teasing one other on Twitter for several years, and Jaffer continued the trend by posting a photo of himself wearing a Bangladesh training jersey and adding, “Hello @MichaelVaughan, long time no see #BANvENG.”

Bangladesh has so maintained its good performances in the limited-overs forms at home. The team overcame Australia (4-1) and New Zealand (3-2) in the T20I series prior to the T20 World Cup last year, and also defeated India 2-1 in the ODI series last December.
