The Royal Challengers Bengaluru has been targeted by everyone because ever since the IPL 2025 season began, the Chennai Super Kings have been leading the way to troll their rivals.

However, RCB has also given some befitting treatment to their trolls, but their long-standing IPL title drought has always made them an easy and favorite target for rival teams, players, and fans.

Most recently, CSK all-rounder Shivam Dube mocked the RCB fans by showing five stars on his jersey, highlighting the team’s success in the tournament.

Ben Cutting takes a swipe at RCB, reminds them of IPL 2016 Final nightmare

Well, the growing list has now been joined by the former Sunrisers Hyderabad all-rounder Ben Cutting, who played a key role in Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s heartbreaking eight-run defeat in the IPL 2016 final on May 26, 2016, at the packed M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

The Australian all-rounder played one of the most memorable knocks in IPL history to silence the entire M. Chinnaswamy Stadium and helped Sunrisers Hyderabad to lift their maiden trophy. On the other hand, RCB has not made it to the IPL finals since their heartbreaking defeat in 2016 against the SRH.

Ben Cutting has taken RCB fans on a trip down memory lane by sharing an old highlight from the IPL 2016 final. The former SRH all-rounder posted an Instagram story featuring a fan-made video of his match-winning performance against RCB in that memorable final.

Ben Cutting relives 2016 IPL glory with SRH

In the 2016 IPL final, Cutting played a key role in helping Sunrisers Hyderabad lift their first-ever IPL trophy. He smashed a quickfire 39* runs from just 15 balls, helping SRH to post 208/7 on the board. Earlier, Captain David Warner had played a remarkable knock of 69 runs off 38 balls.

Later, with the ball, he picked up two crucial wickets — first dismissing the dangerous Chris Gayle (76), who was looking set to guide RCB to victory, and then removing the in-form KL Rahul (11), which dented RCB’s hopes of chasing down the target at their home ground.

For his brilliant all-around show in the final, Cutting was named the Man of the Match. His recent post brought back those bittersweet memories for RCB fans, reminding them of how close they came to winning the title that season, and now they are still hunting for that glorious moment.

Keep getting tagged in these edits: Ben Cutting's request to fans

Now, Cutting shared a reel on his Instagram story that directly poked fun at RCB and its fans. The reel had a text saying, "RCB—We finally win our first IPL trophy. Meanwhile, Ben Cutting—hold my beer." It was a reminder of the 2016 IPL final, where Cutting’s brilliant performance crushed RCB’s dream of winning their first title.

The Australian all-rounder shared the post on his Instagram and said in the caption, "Keep getting tagged in these edits, one of the great career highlights. Thank you." This highlighted how much he still cherishes that memorable final between the SRH and RCB in Bengaluru.
