Ben Stokes Hits Back At Australian Media Outlet After It Publishes Photoshopped Image Of England Captain Wearing A Nappy

England captain Ben Stokes has hit back at an Australian newspaper after they took an aim at England’s ‘whingeing’ following Jonny Bairstow’s dismissal in the second Ashes Test.
The hard-fought Test at Lord’s ended in a controversial manner due to Bairstow’s contentious dismissal on a tense final day. Bairstow was stumped by Alex Carey upon leaving his crease believing the over had ended. The incident took place in the 52nd over when Bairstow ducked underneath a short ball from Cameron Green.
As the ball went behind the stumps, he decided to walk out of the crease, seemingly believing that the ball was dead. Carey, however, had other ideas. The Australia wicketkeeper sensed an opportunity and threw the ball at stumps. Australia appealed for a stumping and the third umpire did not take long to adjudge Bairstow out.

The incident has not gone down well with the English cricket fraternity. They have been enraged by Australia’s sportsmanship and have not shied away from venting their frustration. From fans, players to former players, almost every person associated with English cricket has been busy slamming Australia for not following the ‘spirit of cricket’.

With the English cricket community relentlessly criticising the Australian team, the Australian media has been busy defending the team while taking shots at England. The Australian media, which is famously called the 12th man of the team, has hit out at England, calling them ‘hypocrites’, ‘whingers’ and ‘miserable poms’.
And one of the media outlets decided to take it as far as photoshopping Ben Stokes’ photo. The West Australian decided to depict a photoshopped image of the England star wearing a nappy while sucking on a dummy. They captioned the image with the words ‘cry babies’. The image also showed the photoshopped image of Stokes reaching for a cricket ball.
With the photo going viral on social media, Ben Stokes decided to react to it although in a humorous manner. The England skipper, who played a scintillating knock of 155 runs during the second innings, wrote: “That’s definitely not me, since when did I bowl with the new ball.”
