Bipul Sharma Announces Retirement From Indian Domestic Cricket, Set To Play Cricket In USA

Bipul Sharma an all-rounder who bats left-handed and bowls slow left-arm orthodox has announced his retirement from Indian cricket and he has stated that he will be playing cricket in the USA.

In domestic cricket, Bipul represented Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Sikkim. Bipul Sharma had played 59 first-class matches and he managed to score 3012 runs and bag 126 wickets, he played 96 List A games and scored 1620 runs and scalped 96 wickets.

Bipul has also played 33 games in the marquee Indian Premier League (IPL) and was able to score 187 runs and pick 17 wickets.

He was signed by Kings XI Punjab ( now Punjab Kings) for the 2010 season and he spent 4 years with the franchise as a backup player making 15 appearances and he was dropped from the team for the 2014 season.

However, he was picked by Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in 2015 as an injury replacement and he even played all three knockout games for SRH in their 2016 title-winning campaign.

The Day Has Arrived For Me To Bid Adieu To The Game – Bipul Sharma:

On Sunday, December 26 Bipul Sharma posted a big message on Instagram in which he announced his retirement from Indian cricket.

“25 years!!! I can’t believe I have been playing this long…Finally, the day has arrived for me to bid adieu to the game that I have cherished and loved all my life,” Bipul Sharma stated.

“The journey has been remarkable and it would not have been possible without the blessings of the Almighty, unflinching support of my family – my mother, my uncle and my wife who have always stood by me.

“I would also like to thank my coaches, mentors, peers and all my friends and well wishers for the support and encouragement I have received over the years.

“I would also like to pay my gratitude to the following associations for supporting me in this journey through thick and thin – PCA, HPCA, UTCA, Sikkim and IPL franchise Punjab Kings XI, Sunrisers Hyderabad.

“Onto the next phase of my life, where I look forward to spending more time with my kids and the family… playing cricket in the USA…Love and blessings to all! Thank you Cricket for everything,” he added.
