As the Asia Cup 2025 kicks off on Tuesday, September 9, with Afghanistan taking on Hong Kong at the Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi, legendary Australian cricketer Brett Lee has turned heads by revealing his all-time Asian T20I team.
Brett Lee has named 12 iconic players in his all-time Asian T20I team. The squad is dominated by the Indian cricket superstars. Lee has picked Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma—both retired from T20I cricket last year after winning the ICC T20 World Cup 2025 in the USA and West Indies.
Brett Lee names star-studded all-time Asian T20I XI
Apart from Rohit and Virat, who are two of T20I cricket’s giants, the former Australian fast bowler has named the iconic Indian captain MS Dhoni, star all-rounder Hardik Pandya, and one of the world’s best pacers, Jasprit Bumrah, in his all-time Asian T20I team.

His selection reflects India’s dominance in T20 cricket. Rohit Sharma is the leading run-scorer in T20I cricket with 4,231 runs, and Virat Kohli is the third leading run-scorer with 4,188 runs. On the other hand, MS Dhoni captained India to victory in the first-ever T20 World Cup in 2007.
The legendary Indian wicketkeeper-batter had finished his T20I career with over 1,600 runs in nearly 100 games. Hardik Pandya and Jasprit Bumrah are both India’s big-match winners, both at home and away. However, Lee stunned everyone by overlooking one of the greatest all-rounders, Yuvraj Singh.
Mohammad Rizwan and Haris Rauf named in Brett Lee's squad
Well, Lee then picked two players from Pakistan, and they are Mohammad Rizwan and Haris Rauf. Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan, who was overlooked for the ongoing Asia Cup 2025, is currently seventh in T20I runs with 3,414.
On the other hand, Pakistan fast bowler Haris Rauf brings experience and firepower to the Aussie great’s star-studded line-up. Haris is Pakistan’s top wicket-taker with 124 scalps in T20I cricket.
For spin options, Lee picked Sri Lanka’s Wanindu Hasaranga and Afghanistan’s spin wizard Rashid Khan, both ranking among the top wicket-takers in T20 cricket. While Hasaranga has 131 wickets in 79 T20I games, Rashid has scalped 170 wickets in 100 games in the format to his name.

On the other hand, the UAE all-rounder Amjad Javed has 271 runs and 33 wickets to his name in 22 T20Is, and the bowler Mohammad Naveed has 37 wickets in 31 T20Is to his name to date.
