Pakistan Cricket Board in agreement with the Australian Cricket Board has announced the revised schedule. The first Test will be played in Rawalpindi. Karachi and Lahore will host the second and the Test, before the teams return to Rawalpindi for the white-ball leg of the tour.
Meanwhile, Aaron Finch shared his excitement for the upcoming tour. Talking to Sportstar, he has confirmed his availability for the marquee series.
“As a player, I can’t wait to go to Pakistan for the white-ball leg. That’s one part of the world that’s been deprived of (international) cricket for a long time now, and world cricket’s in a much better place when Pakistan’s thriving as a cricket nation” said Finch.
Many of the players from the current Australian team have not yet played in Pakistan. Aaron Finch further elaborated on the upcoming tour saying that Australia visiting Pakistan will send a good message and will uplift the spirit of the game manifold.
We Will Have A Full-Strength Pool To Pick The Squad From: Aaron Finch
“I think we’ve to do everything to make sure the game is as sustainable as it can be all around the world. We are doing the game a disservice if we don’t do that. And as far as I’m aware, we will have a full-strength pool to pick the squad from.”
In recent times, cricket teams have expressed their concerns about playing in Pakistan since the 2008 attack on the Sri Lankan team. The country has been hugely deprived of international cricket. The PSL has been the only source of some cricket and entertainment for the fans.
As many s 47 players from Australia have registered themselves for the upcoming IPL 2022 auction. Thus the white-ball series will be important for them to come up with performances to attract the attention of the bidders in the mega auction.
