Chetan Sharma and his support members of the selection committee are likely to be renewed in the BCCI’s Annual general meeting on December 4 unless there are sudden changes. The meeting scheduled in Kolkata will have 24 points on the agenda and one of the most discussed points will be about India’s performance in the T20 World cup 2021.

India suffered losses to Pakistan and New Zealand in their first two games of the T20 World cup 2021 Super 12 stages and it dented their chances of making it to the semi-finals. Despite India winning the next three games convincingly, New Zealand progressed into the semi-finals on points. It will be interesting to see Sourav Ganguly’s opinion on Indian performance.

Chetan Sharma Led Selection Committee To Get Renewal

The BCCI usually allots a national selector for four years with each year being renewed based on certain factors. There have been occasions in the recent past when the national selectors’ contracts haven’t been renewed due to their conflicts with BCCI and their performance not being up to the mark. However. Chetan Sharma is likely to get a nod for the renewal.

The BCCI will also be looking to discuss the future limited-overs programs that will prepare India better for the upcoming ICC tournaments. Rahul Dravid was appointed as the head coach of the Indian team while VVS Laxman is likely to take up the role at NCA after BCCI had convinced both the cricketers.
