Former cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu made a sensational revelation about MS Dhoni following the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) loss to the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). Navjot Singh Sidhu stated that MS Dhoni should take the blame for CSK's losses in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024.

The Chennai Super Kings suffered a six-wicket loss against the Lucknow Super Giants at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. The home team failed to defend a total of 210 runs on Tuesday, April 23. It marked their second loss to the KL Rahul-led team in the last five days.

Captain Ruturaj Gaikwad scored an unbeaten century. All-rounder Shivam Dube scored a half-century to help the team cross the 200-run mark. In response, Marcus Stoinis scored an outstanding century as the Lucknow-based team chased down the target with three deliveries to spare.

MS Dhoni Is Still The Main Think Thank - Navjot Singh Sidhu

During the commentary, former CSK player Ambati Rayudu expressed dissatisfaction with Ruturaj Gaikwad's field placement.

Navjot Singh Sidhu, who was also providing commentary, stated that if MS Dhoni receives accolades for victories, he should also accept responsibility for defeats.

"Poor field placements in deaths overs by Ruturaj...We clearly saw lack of experience as captain," Rayudu reportedly said after the game.

"If you credit Dhoni for CSK's wins, then blame him for the losses, too. Dhoni is still the main think tank," Sidhu retorted.

Ruturaj Gaikwad assumed the leadership of the Chennai-based team just before the first match, as MS Dhoni relinquished the captaincy. The Chennai Super Kings currently occupy the fifth position in the 10-team points table, having won four of eight matches so far in the league stage.

Marcus Stoinis Hits A Fabulous Ton

Ruturaj Gaikwad looked in sublime touch despite wickets falling from the other end. Ajinkya Rahane (1), Daryl Mitchell (11), and Ravindra Jadeja (16 off 19) failed to make an impact with the bat. The CSK skipper scored an unbeaten 108 runs off 60 deliveries, including 12 boundaries and three sixes.

Shivam Dube scored 66 runs in 27 deliveries, with the help of three boundaries and seven sixes. The left-handed batter was dismissed in the last over of the CSK innings. Dhoni came to the crease with two balls left. The former CSK skipper smashed a boundary off the only ball he faced in the match.

The Lucknow Super Giants faced a setback when Quinton de Kock (0) dismissed Deepak Chahar in the opening over. Captain KL Rahul was out for 16 during the fifth over the LSG's innings. The Lucknow-based team could only gather 45 runs during the power play, losing two wickets in the process.

Marcus Stoinis formed a crucial partnership of 70 runs for the fourth wicket with Nicholas Pooran (34 off 15). Stoinis then showcased remarkable hitting skills, guiding Lucknow past the target. The Australian batter scored an unbeaten 124 runs off 63 balls, including 13 fours and six sixes.
