The CSK vs SRH clash was held on Sunday, April 28. The match between the Pat Cummins-led Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and the Ruturaj Gaikwad-led Chennai Super Kings (CSK) was held at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

Sunrisers Hyderabad won the toss and elected to bowl first in the match. The bowlers were not up to the mark in the innings as Ruturaj Gaikwad and Daryl Mitchell played brilliant knocks. Gaikwad missed out on his ton by 2 runs while Mitchell scored 52 runs. Also, Shivam Dube scored a quickfire 39 to power CSK to 212/3. For SRH, T Natarajan, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, and Jaydev Unadkat were among the wickets.

Chasing the target, SRH were off to a poor start in the match as they kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Aiden Markram tried to show some fight but he too was dismissed for 32. In the end, Sunrisers Hyderabad were bundled out for 134 in 18.5 overs to lose the match by 78 runs.

After the match, SRH skipper Pat Cummins was asked whether he would've liked to change his toss decision in hindsight. Responding to this, Pat Cummins said that they would have always decided to bowl first as it provided them with the best chance to win.

"(On would he have batted first in hindsight) Not really. We thought it was our best chance to win."

Pat Cummins added that the pitch was good to bat on and with the kind of batting line-up SRH have, they backed themselves to chase down. Pat Cummins further said that he is happy with his batting department despite back-to-back failures and assured that they will bounce back strong.

"They batted well to get to 210 but with thought we were in with a chance with our batting lineup, the pitch was playing well too. We’re pretty happy with how the batting lineup is going. Everyone in that lineup has performed and won us a game at some point in the tournament. It’s definitely dewy now but it was the same in the first innings as well. We’ll bounce back quickly."
