Parshavi Chopra’s great bowling effort was followed by Shweta Sehrawat’s outstanding batting performance as India Women’s Under 19 defeated New Zealand by 8 wickets in the U19 Women’s T20 World Cup 2023 semifinal. India will now compete in the championship match against the victor of Australia and England.

India got off to a strong start as they chased down 108 with openers smashing 33 runs in the opening 3.2 overs. Shafali Verma, the captain, was nevertheless out after making 10 runs off of 9 balls. Anna Browning, a right-arm medium bowler, claimed the captain’s wicket.

Shweta Sehrawat And Parshavi Chopra Help India Women’s Under 19 Qualify For Finals

On the other side, Shweta Sehrawat maintained her strong play as she smashed an undefeated 61 runs off 45 balls to propel team India to victory with 34 deliveries left. Soumya Tiwari, who batted third, also contributed with 22 runs. The two wickets were taken by Anna Browning for New Zealand.

Parshavi Chopra’s 3-wicket haul in the first innings helped the Indian women restrict the New Zealand women to 107/9 in 20 overs. She led all bowlers with three wickets, while Titas Sadhu, Mannat Kashyap, Shafali Verma, and Archana Devi each added one.
